Robert and Peggy are excited to have you as part of our 2007 Smart Board Collaborative. We look forward to the great things you create for your classroom and students.
After our first day, we’d like you to think about what you learned with a 3 – 2- 1 Reflection.
Share 3 things you learned today (your favorite 3 if you learned more than 3).
Describe 2 things you want to explore during the rest of our week.
List 1 thing you are concerned about.

1. I learned about the Rigor/Relevance Framework and how to use it.
2. How to find a fabulous list of sites to use with the smartboard.
3. Make sure that I turn off the projector to not use up the bulb.
I want to explore/learn about all the things the smartboard is capable of doing and learn to use the program to develop lessons/activities that are useful for my kinders.
My one concern is will I be able to successfully remember the most important things that I learn.

3 – There is always time to learn more!
Two things that I want to explore:
1 – science lessons for 1st grade
2 – lessons for four blocks activities
NO CONCERNS! Don’t worry….. Be happy!

I learned: how to download smart tech notebook on my home computer, the rigor/relevence framework, and how to navigate amphi’s site.
I want to explore: matching standards with smartboard activities, putting lessons together.
I want to see how a teacher organizes smartboard lessons for the day. How do you combine the daily use with new material.

3 Things I learned:
1. Delicious…..very useful.
2. Cleaning projector/filter prolongs bulb life.
3. The ’spotlight’/’screen’ features on Notebook….I forgot about these cool features! They are simple, but effective to add variety!
Things I want to learn:
I really want to learn about the recording features for Notebook.

My goal for this week is to create at least one lesson from beginning to end and apply everything we’re learning. I want to feel confident that I could create lessons on my own including finding all available resources, inserting links, creating a folder for the pages, and saving the plans.

Plan for Workshop:
• to search for language, reading, math and science activities to use in my classroom
• to bookmark these sites on delicious if needed or put directly in my content
• time to explore and possibly create

*Create poetry lessons using the Smart Board for some of the types of poems
that I teach. Example their was a site that taught concrete poems.
*Create some Smart Board activities for ancient Greece or Rome. (Hopefully
board will be installed by the time we get to those civilizations.)
*Scan some of the later DOL lessons to teach on the Smart Board rather than
using the overhead.

I would like to
1. See how to put PowerPoint and Word files into my notebook.
2. See how to build artwork in My Content and have it become part of a new
Notebook file that I start.
3. See how to do animation and sound
4. Find and copy new artwork into the gallery
5. Learn to use available tools that would help demonstrate mathematical
principles

Mini Plan
• I would like to add sites to my delicious page that correlate with the science and social studies standards I will be teaching this year.
• I would like to explore the interactive sites that fit with K-2 Reading/Phonics and choose some that I think will be appropriate for my students.
• I would like to develop a real world problem solving interactive activity that would be appropriate for my first graders that could be used sometime during the first two weeks of school.

I would like to create a lesson that involves art history. The lesson will have images from the internet that are interactive. Art history about the artist, as well as art techniques that are used. Students will be able to draw on the images and tell me where the artist has used value, contrast, etc… Where are the shapes that you see, draw a square around the focal point, as just one example.

I want to create at least the beginning of a “C” level 8th grade humanities lesson entitled “Presidential Report Card”. I will be exploring Smart Board sites and maybe the Teacher Vision website for pictures and lesson plans about the U.S. presidents.
I also hope to find sites that have lesson plans or information about teaching Greek and Roman suffixes, prefixes, and root words, in order to prepare a level “A” lesson for my 6th grade reading class. I want to get these into my notebook, so I will have to set up my notebook account in my home computer.

Design 5 lessons for making words.

I would like to become great at Guess the Covered Word (shading, etc.) and increase my delicious tags. I would also like to explore more in the gallery site and look up more interactive lessons in math, language arts, and social studies.
